Caption sports photos with shortcuts

“Goal, header by number 16 of REDSTAR Gaetan Poussin in the 45th minute, during the match Montpellier v Redstar”: three seconds of typing.

1. Describe the event once

Create an event (football, rugby, basketball or handball match, tennis, wedding, report…). Fill in the teams, the competition and the venue: templates write the caption, title, keywords and city of every photo, in French or English. A match sheet in .csv, .tsv or .txt format can fill those fields in one click.

2. Import the players

Paste the team sheet or import a file (an Excel export works): number;name;team. PHOTAUMATE understands lists with or without headers. Once the list is in, a click on a name, or a shirt number followed by Enter, adds the player to the selected photos: the name goes into the Persons shown metadata field, which agencies read.

3. Type shortcuts

A quick caption bar, in the grid and in the preview, turns your own shortcuts, which start with /, into a sentence:

The preview shows the sentence before it is written, completion suggests your shortcuts, and a mistake (unknown shortcut, missing number) shows in red without writing anything.

For all the photos at once

The {people} variable writes into each caption the names identified on its photo. Apply the event to the selection: each photo gets its caption with its own date.
